The Design of Lifegate
A Reader's Bible: Clean and elegant, but with useful additions to the text.
One of Jim Mancuso’s design goals for the Lifegate English New Testament was to present a clean, elegant “interface” for the reader. There are few additions to the page to distract. Verse locators are small but easily read in the upper right of the right-hand page.
A clean design doesn’t necessarily mean one bereft of helps. There is an abundance of pericope headings, all unique to Lifegate, meant to draw the reader into the text, as well as useful formatting styles highlighting the cadence and magnificence of many passages.
Here’s a sample:
I particularly love the formatting that emphasizes 1 Corinthians 13:4—8.
